Reception and Administration

Dawn Blakeman 

Dawn now works in our busy insurance claims department, she assists Lynn with the mountains of paperwork each claim generates. Unfortunately she lost her horse ‘Mystery’ in 2009 aged 30 years but has fond memories of hacking out and competing at local shows. Dawn now spends her free time with her cocker spaniel Lilly and likes to follow British Eventing, her favorite venues being Bramham and Gatcombe.


Helen Wall 

Helen is a key member in our receptionist team. Helen has 3 ponies, Holly, Betsimae and Addiena, and a minature horse, Indi. Because of their size and age, she often shows them in hand at local and, this year, county shows. She also has 4 guinea pigs and 3 cats.>


Lisa Pope

Lisa, pictured with her horse Katy,  joined our morning reception team in February 2014. Outside of work Lisa has a busy family life with husband Kevin and daughters Rhiannon and Seren. She also has three working Labradors Cara, Demi and Monet and a miniature poodle called Elli-Mai who thinks she runs the household!


Helen Blower

Helen joined our afternoon reception team in 2015. She has previously worked on a showing yard and at Eland Lodge. Helen has a very cute piebald shetland pony called Bonnie who she has broken to drive, and recently competed in a local dressage driving competition.


Julie Holmes

Julie is our early bird and mans the busy morning shift with a smile. She has two ponies; Bisto a New Forest and Mally a Connemara X. Julie has two children, her daughter Emily is currently studying veterinarian medicine and hopes to become an equine vet! Julie also enjoys long walks with her two dogs.


Steph Lyon

Steph works part time on our reception team and is always happy to help. She has lots of equine knowledge from working on yards and owning her own horses. Steph currently has an ex racehorse called Brankley that she has retrained herself and successfully evented in the past. She is now on the hunt for a little pony for her daughter who is keen to start riding!


Amy Barrow

amyAmy has recently joined our morning team and brings with her a wealth of knowledge from studying Equine Management and Science at Rodbaston College and owning and competing her own horses. She currently has one horse that she enjoys doing Sport Endurance with. Amy has two children, Sebastian and Stella and a rescue dog from Cyprus called Edee.

Sarah has joined our afternoon recpetion team. She has worked with ponies and horses since she was 5, bringing youngsters on and competing (PC, RC, BSPS, hunting, BSJ, BD and eventing!). The last 14 years she has worked as a freezemark operator. Although no longer competing she has 2 horses at home; Poppy (6 yr old mare, started eventing) and Lilly (9 yr old mare recovering from kissing spine problems and back in light work). Sarah also enjoys going on long walks and visiting eventing fixtures accompanied by her little terrier X dogs Rolo and Heidi.

Wendy Milnes 

Wendy started working at Crown Inn in 2008 as a receptionist / administrator. After spending two years in Scotland Wendy returned to Crown Inn in 2012. She has been married for 16 years and has two Labradors and a 16’2 dutch warmblood called Willy. Willy is 20 years old and competes regularly at unaffiliated dressage locally and nationally.Hobbies include walking, shooting, decorating and gardening when time permits!


Elizabeth Abell 

Elizabeth is our public relations officer. She studied at Harper Adams University gaining a degree in Agri Food Marketing with Business studies.  Out of work she enjoys eventing and show jumping at affiliated level with her Holstein x Irish Sports Horse mare Alligator. She also owns a very cute and fluffy miniature shetland called Maisie, and a Dartmoor pony called Simmy who are ridden by Elizabeths’ twins George and Grace.If you have any interesting stories about your horses’ come back from injury, or competition successes, or inspiring photos please email Elizabeth.


Lynn McKeon 

Lynn is our Insurance Claims Consultant and Drugs Manager, and has worked for Pool House Equine Clinic since the early nineties. She also doubles up as an ordained Church of England Priest working within two local Parishes. Lynn has accumulated quite a menagerie over the years, she presently has two Border Collies Reuben and Rosie, three cats Bubble William and Basil, , two chinchillas Chip and Buttie, four tortoises, tropical fish,  a Giant Lop Eared Rabbit call Boris who was abandoned locally, five chickens and a cockerel called Dibley. Lynn doesn’t presently own a horse but has in the past, Miley who was an Irish Cob and Teazle a Welsh Section D – with attitude in abundance!


Jane Meredith 

Jane is the Accounts Manager in our accounts office & general office manager of Crown Inn Farm. Having owned horses for years, she now provides a home to her two horses. Brenda is a Standard Bred mare who lost her eye when she was 6 years old, ahe is a loyal companion to Colin an arab x appaloosa gelding. At home Jane enjoys time with her family including two german shepherds, a cat and two harlequin rabbits!


Andrea Boulton Andrea has been an accounts assistant since 2005, she is currently deputy head of accounts. She has owned horses for over 30 years and currently owns the handsome ‘Candy’ a 12hh Welsh Section A and the beautiful ‘Tori’ a 14’2 Norwegian Fjord pony. Andrea enjoys spending time with her ponies and also walking her rottweiler dog Tara Bear


Sam Goode Sam joined our busy account team in April 2015 and works Tuesday to Saturday. She enjoys reading and taking her parents dogs for walks. Sam was brought up with horses since she was 3 but sadly has not owned any for around 10 years. She is an avid follower of equestrian sports and also enjoys online gaming. Opie the Hamster and Ronnie and Reggie the Degu’s also keep Sam busy.


Cal Joesbury Cal has worked in the accounts department part time since 2008. This allows her time to care for and ride her two older horses, Kassie and Billy, belonging to herself and her partner Steve. She is also bringing on two homebred youngsters, Sunni and Indi for their future careers in Endurance riding.
