Pool House Equine Hospital offers an experienced team of equine vets offering a ‘one practice’ multi-disciplinary team for all your equine veterinary care. From our experience ambulatory veterinary surgeons to our multi-disciplinary specialist clinical team, we offer all the care your horse, pony or donkey would need all within one practice, providing the best care and putting you and your horse first, 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year.

The hospital offers an extensive range of surgical, medical and diagnostics facilities and as such, can accommodate a wide range of referrals. Offering soft tissue surgery, orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine, advanced dentistry, poor performance, sports medicine and rehabilitation.

Our team consist of Internationally recognised specialists, including European Diploma holders in Equine surgery, Equine Dentistry and a boarded diplomat within the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Our experienced ambulatory team offer a range of services and are equipped with portable diagnostic equipment such as gastroscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound and xray enabling them to carry out diagnostics and procedures at your yard.

We always welcome clients to bring their horses to the hospital for procedures, this enables quick and easy access to all the hospital facilities and saves on a visit fee.

In September of 2004, Pool House Veterinary Group acquired the farm and the surrounding 12 acres of land. After receiving planning consent from Lichfield District Council, work commenced in the October to create a modern clinic dedicated exclusively to the care of horses.

 

On the 24th July 2018, HRH The Prince of Wales opened our new Equine Clinic.

 

It is equipped with two operating theatres, a large preparation area including two DR digital X-ray processing systems, two examination rooms, a radiography room, a specifically designed dental theatre, an ultrasound room, two intensive care stables, a seminar room, as well as many other facilities. There is stabling for up to 30 horses.

Pool House is the largest equine practice in the Midlands; approximately 14,500 visits are made every year. All classes of horse are cared for, including a number of local racehorse training yards. We are also proud of our partnership with Hallmarq UK to provide an MRI service called Midland’s Equine Referrals (MER). Other equipment includes two mobile X-ray machines, six 7.5 MHz linear ultrasound scanners (including three ‘Titan’ units and two micromax scanners), laser surgery, cryosurgery unit, arthroscope, shock wave machine, 3m digital gastroscope, laparoscopy and two 1.4m fibreoptic endoscopes. 

The hospital also provides Veterinary cover to Uttoxeter, Aintree and Wolverhampton racecourses.
