Alex England – Practice Partner
Alex works mainly in the practice at Lichfield, where he is the partner responsible for the general supervision of surgical cases. As well as a degree in Veterinary Medicine, Alex has a B.Sc. in Pharmacology. He is particularly interested in Orthopaedic surgery. Ian Thomas – Practice Partner
Ian is the partner responsible for anaesthesia at Pool House Veterinary practice. He obtained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia in 2004 – the first vet from the practice to do so. Ian has also trained to practice acupuncture. Although he is largely based at the practice in Lichfield and our Armitage branch he is a regular visitor to the Equine Clinic where he advises on the anaesthetic requirements for our equine patients.
Jamie Newton – Practice Partner
Jamie graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2010 and following mixed-practice in Evesham and an internship in Glasgow he returned home to Lichfield; joining the partnership in 2016. He obtained his RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in 2017 and is currently studying for his designated certificate in General Small Animal Surgery. Jamie heads our laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgical service and is mainly based at Burntwood and Lichfield. He and his wife Monica are expecting their second baby and are likely to be found playing in the park with their little boy Angus.
Katie Luis-Hole – Associate Partner
Katie joined Pool House in 2010 after working in mixed practice for 2 years in Yorkshire. Katie is currently working towards an RCVS certificate in advanced veterinary practice with an emphasis on emergency medicine, surgery and critical care. She has a very cute chocolate Cocker Spaniel called Charlie and a mischievous cat called Steve. Her hobbies include walking, skiing and horse riding when she can.
Katie consults at our Armitage branch and the Lichfield hospital.
Lauren Lucas – Associate Partner – On Maternity Leave
Lauren joined Pool House in April 2013. She graduated from Bristol University in 2008 and has since developed an interest in Ultrasonography and medicine. In her spare, time she enjoys walks with her lovely Dalmatian Noah.
Jenny who grew up in Lichfield, first came to Pool House as a vet student in 2003. After graduating from Bristol University in 2007 she officially joined the small animal team and has since developed a special interest in ultrasonography. Outside of, work Jenny enjoys skiing, scuba diving and walking her very energetic collie dog, Brooke.
Jenny now works part-time consulting at our Lichfield hospital and Burntwood branch.
Olivia joined the practice in 2009 after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in London. She has a particular interest in small animal medicine and treats most of our poultry patients. She consults at the Burntwood branch and Lichfield hopsital. At home, Olivia has a very waggy dog called Guinness and a cheeky little cat called Arthur. Her hobbies include walking and snowboarding.
Olivia is currently on maternity leave.
Laura joined the team Aug 2012. She is a Bristol graduate but grew up in this area and came to Pool House as a student throughout her university training. Since qualifying she has developed an interest in emergency surgery and all aspects of medicine but especially reproduction. In her spare time she can be found walking her lovely little terrier Bruno who was rescued from Battersea dogs home.
